5 Gratitude Prompts

Posted by Sanctuary Eleven on

It is crazy just how well the power of gratification works. Taking 5 minutes out of your day to count your blessings is proven to have a positive affect on both your mental and your physical wellbeing. We’ve all heard of it, but it is surprising how many of us don’t implement it in our days and only turn to it when times are tough. So, let’s change that.

I’d like to say it can set your day up well, thinking about 5 things that you are grateful for before jumping out of bed… but if you’re anything like me, it takes a minute to get up and before you know it it’s time for work. Therefore, I usually have my gratitudey-moment before I sleep instead. Either way, it is a positive and I would highly recommend for you to do the same, just five minutes, that’s all it takes.

Sometimes, especially when first thinking of something, it can feel a bit weird to come up with 5 things. I’m sure we all turn towards the obvious, our health, our homes, our friends and our family. And that’s perfect. However, sometimes it can feel a bit samey and as if you’re cheating the system, if that’s the case, you may not get the full potential of sitting there and thinking about what you’re grateful for.

So here’s some little questions to help you along next time you’re struggling of finding something new to be grateful for…

  1. What body part are you most grateful for?

  2. Where is your favourite place to go?

  3. What’s something you did for yourself this week? How did it make you feel?

  4. Name one person that makes you smile

  5. What are you most proud of?

Stay tuned for more in the future and remember to count your blessings - they’re all around us !
